About SANG

The San Antonio Needlework Guild (SANG), a local chapter of The Embroiderers' Guild of America, Inc., was founded in 1974 to provide a forum for needleworkers who are interested in pursuing excellence in the art of embroidery and to preserve the heritage of the art of embroidery.  The chapter has monthly meetings, as well as numerous opportunities to study and learn about various embroidery techniques, such as blackwork, counted cross-stitch, canvas-work, needlepoint, Hardanger, drawn and pulled work, etc.  SANG is a member chapter of the South Central Region, which provides additional educational opportunities, including an annual seminar held within the region, typically in June.  Our chapter membership of about 100 participates in group stitching projects, individual projects, and chapter-sponsored social outreach projects
